What we collect
A few things you do on the page are recorded as an event with no identity attached:
- which page you opened
- whose crosshair you copied, and whether you came from a shared link
- which region or team you filtered by, and whether you narrowed to Champions; what you searched (first 24 characters)
- changes to resolution, DPI, wallpaper (and its motion switch), UI language or dark / light mode
- whom you shared, and whether a shared link was opened
- the result of an advanced-page conversion, and how long it took
- the error message when the page breaks (URLs inside it are stripped)
- the rough reason a copy failed: permission denied, or the browser lacking the API entirely
The server adds: country/region (not city), UI language, browser language, device type (phone/tablet/desktop), OS and browser family (no version), screen width bucket, the resolution you convert to, whether you have been here before, an id for this visit, the domain of the referring site (no path), the three utm parameters from the link (up to 40 characters each), the site version, the time, and a visitor id that changes every day (not your IP). In addition, a randomly generated visitor id (not your IP, not an account) is stored in your browser and sent with events, to measure returning visits and retention; it is replaced automatically after 13 months. Visitors in the EU and UK are not assigned one.
What we don't collect
IP address, full browser identifier, full referring URL, city-level location, the crosshair codes you paste, device fingerprints, cross-site identifiers. There are no accounts, so no contact details either.
Why
To learn which resolutions people use, whose crosshairs they copy, and whether anyone uses the advanced page, so we know what to build next. We look at the whole, not at any one person.
How long
13 months, then deleted automatically.
How to turn it off
Turn on "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" in your browser: this site then sends nothing, and this visit is not counted. Or open valo-xhair.coolwhite.space/?vx_ignore=1 once and this device is left out from then on; /?vx_ignore=0 undoes it.
Third parties
None. No Google Analytics or the like; the data lives only in our own database on Cloudflare.
